The NUMARINE 60' Flybridge – a miracle of space

Following the glamorous success of the 70' and 78' models, the shipyard has unveiled its latest masterpiece: the Numarine 60, available in both Flybridge and Hardtop versions. Measuring in at 18.4 meters LOA, with a 5.15 metre beam, the Numarine Flybridge 60' has a sportive design that respects the exceptional onboard space available to the owner.

The first Numarine 60 Flybridge has now joined the charter fleet of Asia Marine HongKong, the regional distributor for Numarine yachts.

Conceived to have the greatest volume in the 60' category, the Numarine Flybridge 60' was created by Numarine’s designer Can Yalman, responsible for the concept, lines and interiors. The Flybridge 60' is very competitive thanks to Numarine’s construction techniques where being both light in weight and its strength are guaranteed by vacuum infusion composite construction.

Internal layout

Comfort and cheer were the guidelines in designing the Numarine Flybridge 60's internal layout. The three guest cabins, well fitted out with plenty of storage space, each have their own bathroom, which are much larger than you would expect in a boat of this size. The full-beam owner’s suite, with its huge picture windows at water level, fills the cabin full of light and the view it offers to those reclining in bed (165cm wide) is breathtaking.

The decor of the interior is clean and refreshing and relies heavily on the use of glass, leather and stainless steel to give it a contemporary feel. It is very pleasing to both the eye and the hand with its leather-covered interior hand and holding rails.

This is the first of the Numarine’s range of yachts to be totally illuminated using LED lighting but the designers assure us that all future yachts will be fitted in this way.

The 360 Sea view Saloon

The NUMARINE 60' Flybridge – a miracle of spaceThe main saloon is pleasingly asymmetrical with seating to starboard facing the large TV and the galley with a separate dining area just behind the helm station and the steps down to the sleeping accommodation. Big, well-placed windows give great views and simply huge amounts of light. The cockpit is also asymmetrical with the table and seating for the entire guest complement in a u-shaped configuration to starboard. Port side is given over to the steps down to the stern swim platform and the stairs up to the Flybridge.

The galley is incorporated into the main saloon and divided by a useful bar that is equally at home laden with a buffet lunch as serving ‘cold ones’ from the fridge: this is a boat that has been designed to be used by those who like to go boating, rather than be simply admired on a marina slip.

Outdoor living

The Flybridge is large for a boat of this size – it has two seating/lounging areas – each of which can hold up to 6 people with plenty of sun space, there is also the upper helm position and a nifty mini-galley area.

Serious sun-seekers will be down on the foredeck where the usual sunpads are placed –albeit in a different way to the usual arrangements. With more space than usual, the foredeck includes deep sheltered forward-facing, long seats with a folding Bimini roof and two raised benches for the flat-sunpads placed athwartships at each bow. There is also plenty of room, not just for cabin passengers, but for day visitors, whether it’s for a cruise, or drinks at anchor after the day’s end.

Performance:Versatile Engine system

“The hull design of the Numarine 60'Flybridge is derived from Omer Malaz’s needs and requests for an innovative boat designed around the IPS-Volvo propulsion systems”, said Naval Architect Umberto Tagliavini.

“However the challenge was even more interesting considering that it was also desirable to mount an in-line transmission for the markets that are still attracted to the more traditional system”

The Numarine 60' Flybridge hull No.1’sperformance is guaranteed by two Volvo Penta IPS 950.

With a 35 knot top speed and a 28 knot cruising speed, the IPS system also offers a 30 percent reduction in fuel consumption, 30 percent less CO2 emissions, 50 percent lower perceived noise level, 40 percent longer cruising range, 20 percent higher top-speed, and safe and predictable handling. Their smaller size also frees up considerable space in the engine room, which in turn allows an increase fuel tank capacity, notably increasing the cruising range.

While Hull No. 2 (MAN in-line transmission) sea trials confirmed the twin personality of the hull design, which garnered excellent results both with Volvo /IPS transmission and Hull MAN / in-line transmission. 31-32 knots were obtained with Hull No. 1 and IPS, 36-37 knots with Hull No. 2 and traditional transmissions, both providing excellent comfort for passengers.
